She may have won an Oscar for "Shakespeare in Love," but is Gwyneth Paltrow protesting too much or just enough
over rumors she and Coldplay hubby Chris Martin are going through a rough patch?
For the second time in two months, a
spokesman for the copiously blond-locked actress is taking aim at rumblings her
union is in trouble, insisting in a novella-length denial to the New York Post
that whispers the lately little-seen couple is on the outs "are absolutely not
true."
"They have been completely together and barely separated. Chris was with her
in Los Angeles during the shooting of 'Iron Man,' and then with her in the Hamptons during
the summer, and in London for September and October," minutely details the rep.
"She's been in New York for the past week, but [she] is joining him soon in a
few days."
Still not convinced the under-the-radar parents of Apple and Moses are filled
to the brim with domestic bliss? Let's send it back over to the mouthpiece ...
"This stems from the fact that both Chris and Gwyneth make a deliberate
effort not to be photographed together," he explains of the rift rumors. "She
does not take him to any events where there will be press -- or if she does,
they enter separately. It is their policy not to put their relationship out
there for public consumption."
Got that?

Of course, a simple, "All is well. No story here," probably also would have
been sufficient to quell the chatter, which is the approach used by Paltrow's
pals, who tell the paper things are just fine between the low-profile pair.
Gwyn, who was in Spain last month shooting a foodie special, is currently in Manhattan working on
the drama "Two Lovers." Shutterbugs captured her on-set this week smiling and
filming a tight-lipped kiss with leading man Joaquin Phoenix. Martin has reportedly been finishing
up work on the latest Coldplay album.
