The British tabloids can't seem to make up their minds when it comes to Keira Knightley's level of commitment to Rupert Friend. Last week, London's News of the World declared them ready to walk down the aisle. This week, the Daily Mirror claims the pulchritudinous "Pride & Prejudice" pair's nearly year-old relationship has hit a "rough patch" because of the actress' busy schedule. "She's done everything in her power to make Rupert feel important," a snitch blabs to the paper, "but he still complains that he doesn't get enough attention, and it's causing real friction." Other purported problems include Knightley's reluctance to move in with actor, as well as his alleged tiff with her "Pirates of the Caribbean" costar -- and his doppelganger -- Orlando Bloom during a night out in L.A. "Orlando was calling Keira by her surname which Rupert didn't like," maintains the mole. "Then Orlando wanted the party to go on somewhere else, while Rupert was happy to stay put. It all seemed really petty but it annoyed Keira as she doesn't like her personal life spilling over into her work." Concludes the source, "She's too young to settle down and she knows that work has to be her priority. It's up to Rupert to decide whether he can deal with that -- if not their days as a couple look numbered."

Ashlee Simpson has been loudly declaring she's single, and it appears she's more than ready to mingle. People reports the remodeled warbler, 22, was spied on the lap of actor Drew Fuller, 26, enjoying a "major makeout session" at a Los Angeles hotspot on Nov. 16. As for her rumored beau Pete Wentz, who has repeatedly stated they're "just friends," he was seen "glumly" exiting the club. Speaking of "just friends," that's the official word from Ashlee's rep to the New York Post after it allegedly saw her whispering and downing tequila shots with Taye Diggs a couple of weeks back.

Despite tying the knot multiple times, the union of Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock has unraveled. The pneumatic bombshell and her rocker hubby have filed for divorce, citing the usual irreconcilable differences, not quite four months after their champagne-fueled, bikini-filled nuptials in Saint-Tropez (ceremonies in Beverly Hills, Detroit and Nashville followed), reports People. Pam, who suffered a miscarriage earlier this month, lists their date of separation as Nov. 21, while Kid, in his own petition, says they parted ways on Nov. 26. "Divorce," Pam posted on her website Monday. "Yes, it's true. Unfortunately impossible."

Mario López and Karina Smirnoff are still shaking their groove things together even though the music has stopped on "Dancing with the Stars." According to People, the runner-up hoofers, who have sidestepped romance rumblings, are currently enjoying a Mexican sojourn after celebrating Thanksgiving with Mario's family in Texas.

Turns out Chad Lowe isn't consumed by bitterness over ex Hilary Swank's decision to talk about his personal demons during her sit-down with Vanity Fair a few months back. "I was disappointed that the details of our relationship became public," he admits to "Extra" about the VF interview, during which the two-time Oscar winner said his substance abuse problems contributed to the demise of their eight-year union. But he says her revelations "were absolutely true, absolutely true. I've been sober for three and a half years and very grateful for that." And Lowe, who is set to appear on the upcoming season of "24," has nothing but kind words for Swank. "I am so grateful to Hilary for her support of me in a very difficult time in my life three and a half years ago," he gushes. "What hurt me more than anything is that people would think that she wasn't there for me and she was ... She was the love of my life, and that's not something you just shut off. I will always love her."
