Breakup Bits: McGosling Kaput Again? Manson Dumped?
Is it -- sniffle -- over once more for Rachel & Ryan? Plus, womb scrutiny for Jennifer Aniston and Katie Holmes, and oodles of romance news with Anne Hathaway, Ashley Olsen and more ...

Posted Nov. 6, 2008

Remember that deafening roar of "squee!" that erupted when Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams reunited over the summer? Brace yourselves for the torrent of tears and avalanche of crumpled Kleenex sure to follow now that it appears the rekindled flame of their amour has been snuffed out.

Us Weekly reports that the button-cute "Notebook" lovebirds, who cemented their back-on status with a paparazzi-captured round of swoon-worthy PDA during an August lunch date, have once again decided to call it quits.

"He dumped her. Rachel is too controlling," a catty snitch finger-points to the magazine, but another source says, "They broke up the first time because of their busy schedules -- and that's the problem again."

Gosling, 27, and McAdams, 29, who is currently shooting the Guy Ritchie-directed flick "Sherlock Holmes," originally went their separate ways in April of 2007 after nearly two years of togetherness.

"The only thing I remember is we both went down swingin' and we called it a draw," the actor told GQ of their bust-up, describing Rachel as "one of the great loves of my life."

He acknowledged that it was tough living in the shadow of their meant-for-each-other "Notebook" alter egos, Noah and Allie.

"People do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie," Ryan explained. "Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that."

No word on whether their sequel was able to recapture that same level of passion before it fizzled out.

Gosling, for his part, isn't lying low. People spotted him working the turntables during his regular DJ gig at the Los Angeles club Bardot, where he caught up with some buddies and sang along to ditties ranging from Madonna to Bell Biv DeVoe's "Poison."

Meanwhile, in other split chatter, are Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood the latest couple to prove why it's a really bad idea to ink on a permanent tribute to your potentially impermanent love?

The squicky squeezes, who went under the needle on Valentine's Day to get matching black heart tattoos, have supposedly decided to end their age-mismatched romance after almost two years of coupledom.

Star says the whey-faced rocker, 39, was given the boot by the increasingly pallid actress, 21, a couple weeks ago because she was annoyed by his attempts to eject her brother from their guesthouse.

"Evan owned the house and didn't want her unemployed sibling living on the street," a source tells the tab. "It was the tipping point. Evan was fed up with how controlling and emotionally abusive Marilyn was."

The pair was first linked in late 2006, with the hookup apparently playing a major role in Manson's divorce from wife-of-one-year Dita Von Teese, whose vintage style Wood strived to emulate.

The aging Goth quickly went public with his profound feelings for his then-teenage girlfriend, gushing, "I've found my double, my twin ... I respect her as an actress and someone who I'd want to fornicate with."

Alas, that high level of respect may not have been enough to keep these crazy kids together.

And finally, Jaime Pressly has called time-out on her relationship with Eric Cubiche, her DJ fiancé of two years and the father of her 18-month-old son, Dezi.

"We are taking a break from our relationship," the "My Name Is Earl" actress confirms to "Access Hollywood," "but we are together every day with Dezi and still love each other very much."

Pressly adds they've been friends for more than a decade "and will remain close friends as we both adore our son and want to make sure he knows we both love him more than life."

Pipes in an insider to Us Weekly, "They hit a rough patch and decided to take a break. They still love each other, and Dezi is their world, but they feel this is best right now. Eric moved out three weeks ago."
