Baby Burblings: Whose Tot Is Named Ptolemy?
advertisement

After some initial confusion over whether the stork dropped off a pink- or blue-swaddled bundle of joy, Sacha Baron Cohen and fiancée Isla Fisher have confirmed the gender of their bouncing baby Borat, who reportedly arrived last week in Los Angeles.

"They had a beautiful healthy baby girl," the actress' rep tells Us. "Mother and daughter are doing great."

Sources snitch to OK! magazine that the spotlight-avoiding couple have dubbed their new addition Olive, apparently deciding such names as "Jagshemash" or "Booyakasha" might one day lead to diminished career prospects and an increased chance of penning a tell-all.

Less concerned about the teasing and fisticuffs awaiting their tot are Gretchen Mol and her husband, director Tod Williams, who have taken the lead in the 2007 bad celebrity baby name sweepstakes.

People reports they've saddled their son, born Sept. 10, with the moniker Ptolemy John Williams.

Granted, the clunky appellation doesn't inspire quite the same level of eye-rolling as a Kal-El or Pilot Inspektor, but it does guarantee plenty of playground confrontations in the coming years (imagined scenario: "For the last freakin' time, the 'P' is silent!"), especially when the class is studying ancient Greece -- or learning the theme from "Star Wars."

Meanwhile, has Christina Aguilera already settled on a name for her forthcoming (and still unconfirmed) delivery? In Touch claims the pint-size pop queen hopes to christen the bambino after her husband Jordan Bratman.

"She rubs her baby bump and talks to the baby, calling it Jordy," a source tells the mag.

The unisex tag would be in keeping with the couple's kiddie coyness, which they showed off during a recent shopping trip when they sized up both pink and blue Bugaboo strollers.
