When it comes to having a pen pal, a girl could do a heckuva lot worse than trading missives with George Clooney. Renée Zellweger reveals to Reader's Digest that she relishes her electronic interactions with her "Leatherheads" co-star (and rumored ex). "He's a good friend," the pucker-pussed, Manolo Blahnik-bestowing actress, 38, tells the mag. "... We have a lovely relationship. I write him six-page e-mails about my political rage, and he writes back, and cares too." Zellweger, who was last seen getting chatted up by Paul McCartney while summering in the Hamptons, also vaguely touches on her quickly annulled marriage to Kenny Chesney in 2005. "There's nothing to add. I got married, and I'm not married," she non-specifically says. "Not everything works out like you might hope, and I'm not the first person to have disappointment in my life." According to Renée, she's coming to terms with her solo status ("There's good in every situation. It sounds simplistic, but I still have the good things that have always been in my life") and is happier away from the fishbowl that is paparazzi-plagued Los Angeles (she splits her time between New York and Connecticut). "I wasn't really into being followed around everywhere by six guys with two-way radios," explains Zellweger. "I also don't want to be one of those people who are sour about it. So I decided I'd just leave." Besides, she posits to the magazine, "I don't need to be in the eye of the storm. I love acting, I really do love it, but I have a very hard time. It's a strange thing to call a job."

Also having a hard time with stardom is the far less famous Sienna Miller, who is oh-so-tired of the attention she receives from the British press. "Certain aspects obviously I understand but running down the street with 10 men chasing you isn't very fun," the starlet kvetches to MTV UK. "I don't find it easy. I mean I'm a girl on my own sometimes walking my dogs and have to run home with grown men chasing me. If you take away the cameras then that's not legal but if they have that then suddenly that's OK, so I just think the psychology is a bit weird"

When Nicole Kidman stepped out a couple weeks ago for the premiere of her new movie, "Margot at the Wedding," she appeared to be her usual slim-line, unlined self in a form-fitting ivory sheath. But that hasn't stopped the London Daily Mail from maintaining that the hit-needing Oscar winner has already packed 10 pounds onto her fat-free frame for her new flick, "The Reader." "Nicole has said this is one of the most challenging film roles of her career," a "close friend" informs the paper. "The part she plays demands that she gets fatter throughout the movie as her character slips into middle age ... Nicole was originally planning to use prosthetics but was told by the director, Stephen Daldry, that it would be more realistic if she gained the weight." Kidman is supposedly carbo-loading by shoveling pasta, bread and pudding down her gullet. "Nicole loves her new bosom, but she is finding eating so much makes her lethargic and sleepy," says the mole. "She's usually running on adrenaline and has to be reminded to eat a meal. Now she's eating four, and sometimes five small meals a day."

For those who kept their finger off the fast-forward button during the credits of Sunday's episode of "Desperate Housewives," you might have noticed Eva Longoria's name is now eating up a little more of the screen. The "very domestic" actress says she's taken NBA-playing hubby Tony Parker's moniker. "I actually completely adopted the new name and I love it ... I'm a Parker now," she tells E! News. "I love every bit of it ... I like the tradition of changing the name." Longoria Parker, who wed the San Antonio Spurs star in a lavish Parisian ceremony in July, is also reiterating that she -- and by extension her small screen alter ego -- won't be hearing the pitter-patter of little feet anytime soon. "Not for me," she declared to the press last week in Mexico City, "and not for Gabrielle."
