For Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson, the perfect getaway apparently involves sun, sand, surf, Scrabble, smokes and itsy-bitsy bikinis. Paparazzi snapped the slimline, two-piece-sporting inamoratas as they soaked up some rays while chilling seaside earlier this week in Los Cabos, Mexico.

The pair kept the PDA to a minimum (shutterbugs did capture some hand-holding), preferring instead to act like any other couple on a tropical vacation by playing board games, reading the paper and sucking on cancer sticks and popsicles.

"Lindsay and Samantha kept to themselves but looked like they were really enjoying each other's company," a spy observes to the London Sun. "They kept on nipping in and out of the sea to cool down from the heat."

The sojourn comes just as their relationship hits the cover of OK!, which features the actress, 22, in a bizarre and unflattering hand-on-hip pose beneath the headline "Untold Love Story: Life With Sam."

"This is the first healthy relationship Lindsay has ever had," a LiLo pal blabs to the mag. "Both Lindsay and Samantha have total mutual respect and love for each other. All the nonsense Lindsay's had in past relationships -- the crazy fights, cheating and general immaturity -- is totally absent. This is the real thing."

(Of course, while they may not have "crazy fights," there have been reports of public tiffs, including one a few days ago, when E! News caught Lohan "flashing angry looks" at Ronson during one of her DJ gigs in Los Angeles.)

And despite Lindsay's rep trying to downplay her casual confirmation on "Loveline" last week that she and Sam have been going out for "a very long time," a mole informs OK!, "Samantha and Lindsay have been 'out' to friends for a few months now."

Sam and Lindsay stop by the HalloweenTime celebration at Disneyland on Sept. 24.

The mag also touches on their rumored "wedding plans," which have been fueled by the starlet's fondness for wearing a heart-shaped diamond ring on her all-important finger (her mouthpiece has said she bought it herself).

Expect Lindsay's dad, Michael, to go into another rage blackout over the story, which includes romantic tidbits such as this: "[Lindsay] recently bought Samantha a Red Bull, kissing her on the forehead and mouthing, 'I love you,'" according to a snitch.

In Papa Lohan's latest attack on Ronson, he labeled her "dark, hideous and a disgusting representation of humanity," which prompted Lindsay to leap to her defense -- and suggest her dad consider mood-controlling medication.

"Samantha is not evil, I care for her very much and she's a wonderful girl," she declared to the New York Post. "She loves me, as I do her."
