Where Lindsay Lohan goes, rumors follow (if only those rumors would follow her to, say, college), and her recent stopover in New York has been no exception, as whispers of hookups and slipups abound.

On the heels of a report claiming the impulse-propelled, leggings-encased starlet was "all over" reality show pretty boy Brody Jenner last Friday at a New York hot spot (he adamantly denied it) comes word from the New York Daily News that it was actually another easy-on-the-eyes guy who had her undivided attention.

"She was with Stavros [Niarchos]," reveals a snitch, downplaying the Jenner chatter as "completely false." "Brody was just there, but she was all over Stavros."

And not for the first time. You'll recall that LiLo briefly dated the well-heeled Hellenic hottie in 2006 during one of his timeouts from Paris Hilton, and she was spotted in his company late last year following her bust-up with tabloid-blabbing rehab beau Riley Giles.

But is Lohan's attention span even shorter than her list of upcoming movie projects? So says Life & Style, which maintains she hit the town Monday night with a musician named Jeremy Greene.

"They spent the evening driving around together. Lindsay stopped at a boutique to go shopping. Before they went back to her hotel, he was singing to her, and she loved his voice," blabs a spy. "Then they kissed, and there were definitely sparks between them!"

The tab reports that Lohan referred to Greene as her "new boyfriend," but an insider pooh-poohs to the Daily News, "There's no truth to that. She's as single as ever."

Whether she's as on the wagon as ever remains up in the air, however.

After backsliding on New Year's Eve, when she was caught on camera sipping from a bottle of champagne in Capri, Italy, Lindsay may have also had some teetotaling trouble while socializing with Niarchos and Jenner on Friday.

Both the Daily News and the New York Post allege she downed vodka, with the former quantifying it as "at least two" drinks and the latter asserting it was a "swig" from a bottle of Grey Goose.

"Lindsay is learning how to work through her addictions and, once in a while, she chooses to have a cocktail," a "friend" rationalizes to the News. "People over-exaggerate her behavior when in fact on Friday night, many people commented to her on how composed she was."

The baby steps theory is also advanced by another insider, who assures the Chicago Sun-Times, ''While Lindsay still has lots of demons, she's come a long, long way since last spring. This is a helluva talented girl. She knows it. And she's ready to focus on what's important.''
