| Casting: Allen and Lopez Are 'Amigos' |

In a teaming of two of America's TV-friendly comedians, Tim Allen and George Lopez are set to star in the comedy "Amigos" for
Touchstone Pictures. Variety reports the pair will play mismatched in-laws who
are forced to raise their grandson together. Allen hatched the "Three Men and a Baby" meets "The Odd Couple" premise himself and will develop it through
his Disney-based production company. Audiences can see Allen next in this
summer's superhero comedy "Zoom" and Lopez is set to shoot the ping-pong
comedy "Balls of Fury" next month.
Two other comedic actors, Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick, are also teaming up in hopes of
rekindling their movie careers (Nathan Lane has obviously given up). Variety
reports the duo will star in the comedy "All Lit Up" for 20th Century Fox. The
actors will play neighbors in a small New England town who get into a
competitive game when one decides to decorate his house for the holidays so it
can be seen from space. The studio hopes to begin production next month to
have the picture ready for a holiday release. Can you say "Christmas with the
Kranks 2"?
A considerably younger comedian, Dane Cook, is getting ready to take control of the mic in
his movie career. The phenom has had small roles in movies such as "Torque," "Mystery Men" and the absurd actor's showcase "London," but he's never taken center stage on film.
According to Variety, that's all about to change with the Touchstone Pictures'
comedy "Dad Nap." Based on his own pitch, Cook will play a man who kidnaps his
dad to get the type of father-son time he never had growing up. The project is
currently looking for a screenwriter (Cook knows his limitations it seems), so
don't expect to see it for at least 18 months. Cook will be seen next year in
the psychological thriller "Mr. Brooks." The drama features Kevin Costner as a prominent businessman who has an alter
ego for the wild and dangerous. Cook's character blackmails him into being his
new accomplice. "Brooks" begins production next week in Louisiana.
