Sell, Sell, Sell:Scareflix, the independent production company run
by maverick New York filmmaker Larry Fessenden, has been unleashing unique
little horror flicks from mostly first-time directors for a few years now. The
latest, Glenn McQuaid's "I Sell the Dead," ambitiously ... more recaptures the look and feel
of the classic Hammer horrors of the 1960s. The script falls down, but the
visuals are just right, and Fessenden himself delivers a hearty performance as
one of two grave robbers (Dominic Monaghan of "Lost"
is the other) who dig up more than they bargained for. Fessenden, director of
the excellent "Wendigo" and "The Last Winter," will next get behind the camera
for the English-language remake of the Spanish chiller "The Orphanage."
