Sylvester Stallone opens up on Arnold Schwarzenegger rivalry

Sylvester Stallone wanted to "strangle" Arnold Schwarzenegger during their 1980s heyday as they battled it out for the unofficial title of Hollywood's toughest man.

The musclebound "Rocky' actor and ripped "Terminator" star, who have since buried the hatchet and appear together new action sequel "The Expendables 3," were deadly enemies at the height of their careers, and Stallone has now opened up about their intense rivalry.

He says, "There were times when we could not even be in the same room. I was always like 'Oh it's him.'

"Arnold was like someone you wanted to strangle every day, like in the morning and at night. We were so competitive. He was Mr. Olympia. We came along at the same time, of course I was first but he was bigger."

Stallone and Schwarzenegger star in the third instalment of "The Expendables" alongside Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford and Antonio Banderas.

You are all so wrong..........when Sly first started, he tried to do some different stuff (Paradise Alley and F.I.S.T. come to mind) but the critics who built him up for Rocky, deserted him and complained because those films didn't fit their mold of  what films should be, and they kept complaining about his ego, like these androgynous people in Hollywood don't ever show egos?!!!.............I remember seeing an interview with Sly at that time and he said "OK, if it's action they want then that's what I'll give'em and laugh all the way to the bank, while they screw themselves".I think he can do it all and do it well, Did you see "Copland"?.........just because you can't eat hot doesn't mean that Thai food sucks. And Arnold? He's a natural! Maybe not for Hamlet, but he can be a lot of fun..............You all need to take a laxative and lie down!

Who would win if there was a street fight between Clubber Lang and Mr. Miyagi?

I would have paid big to see that fight (Sly all the way).
