Penelope Cruz linked to Bond girl role

Penelope Cruz is reportedly in the running to play a Bond girl in the next 007 movie.

Producers of the James Bond blockbusters are courting the Spanish star to play Daniel Craig's onscreen love interest in the next installment of the superspy franchise, according to a leaked document from the Sony Pictures studio, which has been obtained by several British tabloids. The press release, sent out in France, reportedly listed Cruz as a castmember for the upcoming film.

A source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Bond bosses have been chasing her since Daniel became 007 in 2006. But schedules and her pregnancies meant it never materialized. At this stage no one at Sony will confirm it."

If Cruz signs on for the picture, she will be following in the footsteps of her husband Javier Bardem, who played villainous Raoul Silva in 2012's "Skyfall." The as-yet-untitled next Bond movie is set to hit theaters in November 2015.

I thought Bond women were supposed to be hot?  They can definitely find someone better than her.  If they're looking for a Latino women they should give Salma Hayek a try.

I hope she doesn't mind dying onscreen, because being involved with 007 is the kiss of death.
