Meryl Streep in talks to portray Susan Boyle?

WENN

Scottish star Susan Boyle has revealed Meryl Streep is in talks to portray the singer in an upcoming biopic.

The former "Britain's Got Talent" winner's unexpected rise to fame is heading to the big screen and one of the names on the short list to play Boyle is Oscar-winner Streep.

In an interview with Britain's Metro newspaper, shy Boyle admits, "I wouldn't like to be in the film myself. I'd like someone to play me. Probably Meryl Streep -- I understand she has been approached."

The "Iron Lady" actress is reportedly not the only woman in line for the part -- both Catherine Zeta-Jones and Glenn Close have also been tapped to play Boyle.

Since the opera singer was crowned the unlikely winner of "BGT" in 2009, the 52-year-old has sold more than 19 million albums worldwide, earned two Grammy nominations and been honored on stage with a musical based on her life.

The biopic is being produced by "Britain's Got Talent" boss Simon Cowell and Fox Searchlight studio executives.

She did not win that contest.  She came in second.  She certainly deserved to win it...

an opera singer, winner? if you are going to do a job of reporting, please learn your subjects. does Hollywood not have but just a few actors and actresses. I do not like either Streep or Close. I am surprised they didn't offer it to Hanoi Jane. these are the only ones that seem to get offered any roles. what about finding an actress maybe on the Broadway stage that could play the part, and

better I am sure. Hollywood is not in its best age,  I would have to say it is in its boring age. movies remade from the 40s-50s and the same old tired actors and actresses.
