Elizabeth Olsen confirmed for role in 'Avengers' sequel

WENN

Elizabeth Olsen has been confirmed as a castmember in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron."

The actress has been linked to the role of the Scarlet Witch for months, and now Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in the Marvel franchise, has told The Wall Street Journal that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's sister will be on-set when the sequel starts shooting next year.

Bing: 'Catching Fire' first-day advance ticket sales were huge

He tells the publication, "I know we're shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. Olsen, but I don't know what she's doing, if she's on the inside or the outside. I haven't seen a script."

The film is set for release in 2015 and also features returning "Avengers" castmates Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner.

She's actually a really good actress, unlike her older sisters. She was great in Martha Marcy May Marlene. Good hire.

In Ultimate Avengers Nick Fury was black.

In part that's what they movies are based on.

So in essence he's been both black -and- white.

Geeze.

Unfortunately, staying true to the original author's description of Nick Fury (WHITE GUY) means nothing in today's society. The same people that gave thumbs down are probably parents that praise their kids for a mediocre behavior. Imagine how  the Lord of the Rings would have turned out if Peter Jackson decided to have Frodo played by a black guy. For the record, I think Samuel Jackson is a great actor in the movies he was chosen to act in. This is just not one of them. IMHO, casting seemed to have been geared towards affirmative action instead of choosing an right actor to portray Nick. As for Olsen casted as the Scarlet Witch, I think she is a good choice because, hmmm, the comic version is a white female with red hair. I guess we will have to wait for the movie to judge her acting skills.
