Chloe Grace Moretz disagrees with Jim Carrey over 'Kick-Ass 2' violence

WENN

Chloe Grace Moretz says she respects Jim Carrey's decision to bow out of promotional work for their new film "Kick-Ass 2," but disagrees with his opinion on the violence in the movie.

The funnyman has refused to take part in a publicity campaign for the film, in which he plays a vigilante named Colonel Stars and Stripes, as he felt he could no longer support the project following last year's school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. Carrey cited the movie's "level of violence" for his decision, but 16-year-old Moretz, who plays a costumed assassin in the movie, insists his fears are misguided.

Bing: Jim Carrey speaks out on gun control

She tells Britain's The Sun, "It's a movie. If you are going to believe and be affected by an action film, you shouldn't go to see 'Pocahontas' because you are going to think you are a Disney princess. If you are that easily swayed, you might see "The Silence of the Lambs" and think you are a serial killer. It's a movie and it's fake, and I've known that since I was a kid ... I don't want to run around trying to kill people and cuss. If anything, these movies teach you what not to do." She adds of Carrey, "Each to their own. I know the movie I made and it's all good and I respect his decision."

A gunman killed 20 children and six adults at Connecticut's Sandy Hook Elementary School in December, sparking a fevered debate in America over gun law and whether violent movies influence the behaviur of disturbed individuals.

i find it hard to see Mr. Carey's viewpoint when he didn't have any trouble making the movie.  if he had bowed out of production I could see him standing up for something he believes in but it's just the promotion he's not doing - doesn't make much sense to me - then again it's Hollywood - nothing actors or actress's do makes sense to me.

People have been saying all along, if Jim is so disgusted then he should give all of his proceeds to his favorite charity, or to the families of Sandy Hook.

Jim.....hello....Jim?   Nobody is answering...guess he liked the moola he made off of the movie BEFORE it came out.

Jack-hole!!

I used to like Jim Carey a lot from his comedic days of yore but ever since he hooked up with jenny McCarthy, i think that fake autism she blamed on vaccinations transferred to Jim. He is the biggest pair of clown shoes going. from his ridiculous turn in Burt wonderstone to his refusal to promote a movie that he is surely not giving his earned income back to. Stop telling us so overtly what we allready know. Hollywood types like JC are ultra liberal zealots. See, it helps when you can afford to be so flippant with idiotic socialist ideals.. Join a commune Jim or make another Ace ventura, it was the only time you were truly good. Kinda like Sean Penn, he was at his best in Ridgmont high, after that he opened his mouth and exposed himself as an elitist liberal proselytizer.
