Russell Crowe's kids unimpressed by his role in 'Man of Steel'

WENN

Russell Crowe's young sons were unimpressed with their dad when they watched his latest film "Man of Steel," as he only appears in a handful of scenes.

Crowe's sons Charles, 9, and Tennyson, 6, have been desperate to see their famous father on the big screen because he has previously refused to let them watch any of his movies due to mature content. When shooting wrapped on the new Superman film, Crowe, who plays the superhero's biological dad in the movie, proudly took his two boys to a preview, but they were disappointed by his lack of screen time.

Bing: 'Man of Steel' tornado scene unchanged

He tells U.K. talk show host Graham Norton, "I have a 6-year-old and 9-year-old, and I have to be honest that came into play in making my decision [to accept the role], so they could see one movie I did. 'Gladiator' is way too violent, and 'Les Miserables' has prostitution, so they have never been able to see a film of mine, and now they have. I'm hardly in it, so when they did see it they said, 'What's the big deal?'"
