His star was unveiled next to his ex-wife Elizabeth Taylor's pavement plaque on Hollywood Boulevard. Burton, who died in 1984, received the career honor as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of movie classic "Cleopatra," in which he co-starred with Taylor.

The couple's adopted daughter, Maria Burton, accepted the star on her father's behalf on St. David's Day, which honors the patron saint of Burton's native Wales.

Fellow Welshman Michael Sheen was among the celebrities who paid tribute to the actor, recalling a chance meeting with his hero and Taylor when he was a young boy. "The Queen" star told the crowd, "The same beach that I built my boyhood sand castles (on)... that one legendary day, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor descended from the heavens, like gods from Olympus, in a helicopter... and landed. "They stepped out swathed in luxurious fur coats... and walked among us for too short a time."

Are you kidding me?  I didn't realize he didn't already have one!  An actor of his caliber?  Glad to see it.
