Kenneth Branagh has become Cinderella's fairy godfather after reportedly replacing Mark Romanek as the director of a new blockbuster about the girl with the glass slippers.

Disney bosses have asked the Brit to take over the live-action movie, after Romanek turned into a pumpkin and dropped the project last month.
Branagh has made a name for himself as a blockbuster director in recent years -- he took charge of "Thor," and will be behind the camera for the upcoming Jack Ryan movie. Internet reports suggest Cate Blanchett is still onboard to play Cinderella's wicked stepmother, and Irish actress Saoirse Ronan is in the running to play the title character.
