Movie censors in China have cut a key scene in hit Bond film "Skyfall" and altered the subtitles to remove references to torture and prostitution in the country.
The latest 007 blockbuster received a worldwide release late last year, but audiences in the Far East country had to wait almost three months longer than Bond fans elsewhere.

"Skyfall," starring Daniel Craig as the suave superspy, finally hit cinemas there on Monday -- but it has suffered under the censor's knife in an apparent bid to remove disparaging references to the Chinese regime and culture.
A scene of an execution in Shanghai has been erased from the final cut, and references to torture by Chinese secret agents and the booming prostitution industry in Macau have been left in the script but altered in the subtitles.
