Daniel Radcliffe addresses gay love scenes in new movie

WENN

Daniel Radcliffe has dismissed accusations that the gay sex scenes in new movie "Kill Your Darlings" are shocking, and branded the controversy around the film "strange."

Bing: Actors channel Allen Ginsberg on film

The "Harry Potter" star portrays late, gay beat poet Allen Ginsberg in 1944, and engages in several homosexual love scenes. The British actor has long been a vocal supporter of gay rights and has worked closely with the Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization focused on crisis support and suicide prevention for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youths -- and he's baffled by the furor surrounding the movie.

He tells MTV News, "It's interesting that it's deemed shocking. For me, there's something very strange about that because we see straight sex scenes all the time. We've seen gay sex scenes before. I don't know why a gay sex scene should be any more shocking than a straight sex scene. Or both of them are equally un-shocking."

The only people "shocked" by any depictions of sex onscreen are those who imagine themselves in those scenes, and are shocked by the realization that they might actually not be as shocked as they thought.  Homophobes will rant about such scenes, and the rest of us will merely yawn and say, "So what?"

Live and let  live!  Life is way to short for all this BS and hate. As you mature you should realize this if you any smarts.

If you do not want to see a sex scene in a movie, gay or not, then skip the movie and get over it. Kudos to Daniel for taking on such a tough role and the flack that goes with it.

I'd rather see a sex scene with two men, two women or one of each, than people killing one another.

What if Jesus came back as gay or lesbian to test us on compassion and brotherly love?  I'm afraid he would be greatly disappointed in many people.  I'm not saying God is against of for same sex relationships, but sometimes we forget that the Bible was written by men of faith and transcribed by a King who wanted to keep his people in check.  Leaders frequently use fear...  The Bible also says Thou Shalt Not Kill and how many people have been murdered by religious people (Spanish Inquisition or Salem Witch Trials, just to name a couple)?  People who engage in same sex relations should not be judged by man on earth, but by God, just the same as the rest of us!  Get over it, everbody!
