Actor Ryan Gosling has applauded the director of his new film "Gangster Squad" for cutting a movie theatre shooting scene from the thriller following Colorado's cinema massacre.

The crime film originally featured a shootout at a cinema, but when suspected gunman James Holmes opened fire on film fans at an Aurora, Colo., theater in July , killing 12 people, director Ruben Fleischer immediately went back to the editing room to make adjustments out of respect to the victims.

As a result, the cast and crew had to return to the set to reshoot scenes, and now Gosling has commended Fleischer on his selfless decision.

During an appearance on "Good Morning America" on Jan. 11, he said, "I was really proud of him because it really was the best sequence in the movie, without question. The day it [the massacre] happened he wouldn't even dream of keeping it in."

Ironically, the trailer for "Gangster Squad" -- featuring the cinema shootout -- was scheduled to debut the weekend after the massacre as part of the pre-show for "The Dark Knight Rises." Producers immediately pulled the clip.

apparently America can't handle the truth - there are really cruel people and they do bad things - but this is a movie. When the towers in New York were hit, spiderman posters were pulled because "GASP" the towers were no longer standing. really, please stop with the coddling - most of us can handle it.

So, it's okay for Hollywood to show people getting shot up every which way in every place imaginable as long as it's not in a theater. Got it.

Thank God "Earthquake '76", the "Poseidon Adventure"  or "Towering Inferno" didn't have the same PC constraints and didn't edit their films due to worries over offending earthquake, sunken ship and fire victims, audiences in the 70's were bright enough to know the movies were fantasies not meant to be taken seriously. Now, however, everything has a hidden insulting message for one paranoid group or another, the only villains that can still be shot on camera are straight white males, even alarm commercials are afraid to show black robbers (notice the criminals are always white males) and credit card fraud commercials show innocent black retirees being robbed by evil white waitress credit card thieves even though the statistics show the actual factual truth is completely the opposite. Movies no longer entertain, their major role is to spread left-wing propaganda. This director shouldn't be praised by an airhead pretty-boy canadian socialist actor who's career won't last the decade and has about as much comprehension of the First Amendment as every other backward socialist canadian (imagine living in a country where you can go to prison for  WHAT YOU SAY, study canada's hate speech laws, they will shock most Americans), no, this director would have taken instructions from Hitler's propaganda ministry in Nazi Germany with relish. This American won't be lectured by losers still licking their english master's boots wishing every day they were born Americans instead of faking that they are. PS canada come up with a real flag, the whole world laughs at your pathetic red leaf...

So Gosling supports censorship, and we're supposed to applaud him? Give me a break.
