Prince William, sans Kate, graces 'Hobbit' red carpet in UK

LONDON (AP) -- Prince William is joining stars such as Ian McKellen and Cate Blanchett on the red carpet in London for the U.K. premiere of "The Hobbit," the first part of Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" prelude.

William's pregnant wife, Duchess Kate, is missing from the prince's arm -- she cancelled her appearance at the premiere due to acute morning sickness.

McKellen, who plays the wizard Gandalf in the adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's work, told reporters Wednesday that it "feels proper" to celebrate the film in London, given that a large part of the cast is British and Tolkien was an English writer.

Blanchett, who plays elf queen Galadriel, said it was great to see so many fans turn out, considering the cold weather was "enough to drive anyone away."

Since when does Prince William have no right to do anything without Kate attached to his hip?  I'm sure, as nice as the young man is, he has been sympathetic toward her and I see no wrong that he took a likely rare opportunity to get out for a bit, see a movie, and make a public appearance.  SO WHAT?

His "job" is basically to be in the public light, behave himself and at least appear concerned about the people of the United Kingdom.

Who cares? Why is this even a story? This isn't even British media! Our US media is all obsessed over their royal family to the point where they likely will soon document when they take a piss. Why do I need to know that Prince William showed up on the red carpet to see the Hobbit, and that Kate wasn't there? Wtf!

The Daily Sun is reporting that Bonny Prince Baldy had requested that Kate get breast implants after the baby is born.  It is reported that the heir with no hair is not satisfied with her bitty little boobies and wants to suck on some substantial mammeries instead.  The princess had replied to his request with one of her own:  "Stop making fun of my tiny knockers and i'll stop vacationing in the Congo with King Mandingo....and another thing, do the rules of succession apply to mud-babies?"
