Johnny Depp asks Keith Richards to reprise 'Pirates' role

Johnny Depp has approached Rolling Stones legend Keith Richards about reprising his role in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise.

The Hollywood actor previously credited the veteran guitarist with inspiring his flamboyant Jack Sparrow character, and Richards made two cameos playing Depp's on-screen swashbuckling father, Capt. Teague, in the adventure films. Now the rocker reveals he may be heading back to the big screen in a fifth installment of the series.

Richards tells BBC 6 Music, "I spoke to Johnny a couple of weeks ago and he said, 'Are you up for another one?' I can leave it at that because I know no more. But I do have the costume! (It helps because) some kids who don't know nothing about the Rolling Stones go, 'There's Johnny Depp's dad! There's Capt. Teague, arrgh!'"

I think it would be cool for them to have an adventure together. They could storm Tortuga looking for Geritol.

keith richards is an average guitarist at BEST. The stones stopped being the stones when Mick Taylor left...here is an example of what the headlines were year in and year out when Mick Taylor played lead...." Mick jagger was as always mick jagger, pimping and preening his way around the stage. Keith Richards played a couple dozen guitars, none of them sounded like they were in tune, while the obvious highlight was the stoic Mick Taylor. Standing in the shadows, peeling off one incredible riff after another, all night long" For the stones wannabee's of today, if you didnt see them between 69 and 74, you have NEVER seen them.!!!
