Bing: More on Sammi Kane Kraft
The 20-year-old, real-life athlete, who landed her role in the 2005 remake due to her baseball skills, was a passenger in an Audi that was rear-ended by a truck on the 10 Freeway, and then struck by another vehicle. Kraft was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where doctors pronounced her dead.
The driver, Molly Kate Adams, received treatment for moderate injuries, and was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving. In the "Bad News Bears" reboot starring Billy Bob Thornton, Kraft played Amanda Whurlitzer, the tomboy role made famous by Tatum O'Neal in the 1976 original film.
If you go to a real news site and read the story it will tell you that the driver of the Audia (Molly Kate Adams) was drunk and rear-ended an 18-wheeler.
Anyway, RIP Sammi I loved you in this film as much as I did Tatum in the original. Such a shame to lose a talent like yours so soon.
As a long time rescuer and Paramedic in Pima County Az, I can asssure you drunk drivers kill innocent people way too often
