Batman shooting victims sue cinema

WENN

Victims of the Colorado cinema massacre have filed a lawsuit accusing theater execs of negligence.

Gunman James Holmes has been charged with 142 counts, including first-degree murder, after 12 film fans were killed and 58 were injured during a screening of Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colo., in July.

Three of the victims have now taken legal action against the owners of the Century 16 multiplex, alleging the theatre should have been equipped with an alarm system which could have stopped Holmes allegedly propping open a fire exit to get guns from his car.

hey also claim the cinema should have been given heightened security for the midnight screening.

Denise Traynom, Brandon Axelrod and Joshua Nowlan filed federal lawsuits demanding $750,000 each in damages. The cinema has been closed since the atrocity, but is set to reopen early next year.

The real issue of civil responsibility for the theater is the fact that they don't allow lawfully armed citizens to carry their weapons.  The result (as we have seen over and over) is that criminals don't read these "no guns allowed" signs and have free fire until someone stops them.  Outrageous that any business would prevent people from having the tools to defend themselves and others.  Wake up America!
