Actress was intimidated by men on 'Death Race' set
WENN

Natalie Martinez has opened up about her nightmare experiences filming "Death Race" on a largely all-male set, insisting she didn't feel very safe at times.

The actress teamed up with Jason Statham for the fast-paced and violent 2008 film and admits there were times she had to ask her British co-star to talk to his castmates about the way they treated her when the cameras weren't rolling.

Martinez claims the extras took their macho, prison inmate roles too seriously and started treating her like a piece of meat.

The actress, who played Case in the film, recalls, "There were a lot of thuggish-looking people on the set in 'Death Race' and they were very intimidating. They were really mean and there was no respect.

"The guys would say things about my butt or my body and be a little disrespectful on set where I'd be like, 'Jason, can you beat them up for me?'

"I didn't feel comfortable walking from the trailer through the prison yard. When they'd shoot the prison scenes, boy were they in character!"

wow, pretty much the male mentality you'd expect I guess...a woman feels uncomfortable with the way she is being treated or talked to and she is criticized for it...called a prude, or to lighten up...wonder if all you wonderful men would feel the same way if it were your mother,  sister, wife, or daughter being treated that way...we're just women, we don't need to be treated with respect because we're only on this earth for men's enjoyment...we have no feelings and should take whatever abuse is dished out to us because, well, we're women...

Nobody deserves to be intimidated anywhere. But it's strange that this is coming out 4 years after the fact.

I just have to wonder if the casting director used the agency from south central LA that actually uses real convicts. They specialize in providing the baddest looking tattooed thugs available. The agency was started as a means to help convicts find jobs in acting instead of going back into crime. She was probably dealing with a bunch of thugs with real experience in prison and didn't even realize it.  The studio should've provided her with security. They were leaving themselves wide open to a hostile workplace sexual harassment lawsuit.

Funny how this article is about how she was treated poorly...and the comments here are nothing but rude.  I agree, she's not relavent, I don't know her name, or face, but telling someone to "go back where you came from" and to "get in the kitchen and stop complaining" when they tell you they were treated horrible is gross.  You guys are gross.
