Daniel Craig's personal life suffered during Bond shoot

WENN

Daniel Craig's personal life suffered when he shot the latest James Bond movie, "Skyfall," because he becomes "totally single-minded" while working on the 007 blockbusters.

The actor, who is married to fellow Brit Rachel Weisz, admits filming his scenes as Bond is "all-encompassing" and he struggles to switch off when he heads home. He tells Britain's Empire magazine, "When I'm doing the movie, I'm totally single-minded. It is to the detriment of my personal life, but fortunately I have a very understanding family and they understand that that's part of it and that it's all-encompassing. I keep my energy levels as high as I can all the time."

Regardless, Craig is thankful for the opportunity to work on such an established film series, adding: "I want to inspire, and be inspired. And I'm lucky enough to work with some incredible people with vast experience. I was standing on top of a train in Turkey with this crew of people, I looked around and I thought, 'You know, this is the best place to be for an actor.' So I kind of give it all I've got, and then collapse for a while."

I like Craig as Bond. He's a nod back to Sean Connery, who was tough as nails and believable as a superspy, unlike prettyboy Roger Moore, although Live and Let Die is one of my favorite Bond films. As Moore aged, he became less credible and more saggy. Daniel Craig has that rock hard body that looks like he could take a beating and then give one right back. I also like how Craig's Bond flicks are more realistic - many of the Moore/Dalton/Brosnan-era movies were too over the top. Bond should be the strong silent type. Bring on Skyfall! Can't wait.

There was a recent interview of Roger Moore who was asked about how good Daniel Craig is as Bond.  Moore said Craig is perfect for the part by acting the way Ian Fleming wrote the character.  Plus he said there is no way he could do the action scenes the way Craig can, saying he was doing his best not to make his knees pop when he was playing Bond.

The best Bond since ol' skool Connery, and more physically convincing.

Daniel Craig is the perfect Bond...He is an action guy for sure....and the most believable in all the full on action scenes...sure I liked Sean Connery for that period, but now you have fight scenes which look like the real thing...Daniel Craig...the perfect Bond!! Hooray!
