Playboy Playmate and actress Cynthia Myers dies at 61

Former Playboy Playmate and actress Cynthia Myers has died at the age of 61.

The busty beauty graced the cover of the men's magazine in December 1968, just three months after she turned 18. The saucy shots had actually been taken when she was 17, but Playboy policy dictated that editors waited until she was of legal age to publish the images.

The Toledo, Ohio, native also tried her hand at acting and made appearances on Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner's "Playboy After Dark" TV series in 1969, before going on to land roles in 1970's "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" and 1972's "Molly and Lawless John."

Details about her death have yet to be revealed, but Hefner broke the news on his Twitter page Friday, writing, "I'm saddened by the news of the passing of beloved Playmate Cynthia Myers, Miss December 1968."

Cynthia Meyers was my step mother, she died of cancer. She was a very classy lady and had been fighting cancer along with my father whom also died of a different type of cancer just six weeks ago. She was heartbroken over my father's death and I believe she was tired of fighting after that. She will be missed by all.

I respect everyone's right to their religious views...but I have to wonder why so many "religious" people felt the need to come to an article about the passing of a Playboy Playmate when they clearly stand in judgment of it. For those of you who have forgotten...there is not one among us who is without sin, so while you are judging hers I hope you are working on your own. Personally, I don't see that posing nude is that sinful. If you are a believer in God (which I see many of you claiming to be) you will remember that it was how God made us. It was the flawed human mind that made nudity shameful or bad. Maybe those who live not so weighed down by shame and judgment are truly able to touch the sky...good luck to those of you carrying your shame chains. R.I.P. Ms. Myers

She was my number 1 pin-up while serving in Vietnam. She was one of the most popular pin-ups from 1968 thru the rest of the Vietnam era with many other soldiers. I joshed a lot of other guys that I knew her personally because we both are from Toledo, Oh. I still have her pin-up picture in my war chest. She was  tops of a  million other  beauties. She was tops, just ask the many vets who also had her as a pin-up. To young to die for such a beautiful angel.

Kelly101 where did you come up with the "Christian" comment. Did you attend "Church" with her or is that just a stupid statement you made? God Bless her and condolences to her surviving family and friends.

I'm not understanding some of the comments being made in regards to Ms. Myers. She doesn't have anything to explain to anybody. She shared her beauty with the world and that's all that matters.
