Given her trio of rehab stints and double DUI busts in 2007, Lindsay Lohan probably should have welcomed in 2008 holed up at home with some warm cocoa, a security blanket and Dick Clark on TV.
Instead, she celebrated the New Year at a party in Capri, Italy, where she stopped kissing random Italian guys long enough to be captured on video taking a nip from a bottle of champagne.
Whoops.
In a refreshing bit of candor, Lohan's lawyer acknowledges the bubbly slip-up and says her client is taking steps to deal with it.
"After being handed a champagne bottle while on a dance floor in Italy on New Year's Eve and drinking from it, the good news was that Lindsay stopped herself that night, called her sponsor, and got herself immediately back on track," attorney Blair Berk optimistically explains to People. "There is no magic cure here. The most unfortunate part of this is that Lindsay has to share her 'one day at a time' with the entire world."
The actress, who checked out of Utah's swanky Cirque Lodge in October, was in Capri for a film festival, where she was honored as "an icon in the world of entertainment."
