Whether it's the role that leads to that big comeback or finally transitioning from the tiny tube to the big screen, a popular indie movie is always a great way to restart a sagging career. Can you guess who's hoping for a big break at Sundance based on the following flicks?

"In Bruges"
The festival's opening-night comedy features Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson as hit men hiding out in Belgium until their boss, Ralph Fiennes, turns the tables on them.

"The Deal"
Meg Ryan and William H. Macy star in yet another movie industry farce about a film producer (Macy) at this year's festival.

"The Last Word"
Wes Bentley plays a man who makes his living writing suicide notes for other people. Clichés abound as his world is "thrown for a loop" when he falls in love with the sister of one of his deceased clients, played by Winona Ryder.

"Birds of America"
Matthew Perry, Hilary Swank and Ben Foster ("3:10 to Yuma") star in yet another indie focusing on the not-so-normal lives of suburban families in America.

"The Merry Gentleman"
Michael Keaton directs and stars in this drama about a love triangle between a woman who has just escaped an abusive relationship (Kelly Macdonald), a hit man (Keaton) and an alcoholic detective (newcomer Tom Bastounes).

"Death in Love"
Josh Lucas, Jacqueline Bisset, Lukas Haas and Adam Brody star in this drama about two brothers who, decades after the fact, are adversely affected by their mother's actions in a Nazi concentration camp.

"Downloading Nancy"
Jason Patric is Maria Bello's salvation in this drama about two wounded souls who find each other over the Internet.

"The Year of Getting to Know Us"
This dark comedy finds Jimmy Fallon playing a New York writer who returns to his native state of Florida to deal with some childhood issues before committing to his longtime girlfriend (Lucy Liu).

Sundance also always ends up debuting one or two under-the-radar discoveries -- such as "The Blair Witch Project," "Napoleon Dynamite," "Memento," and, last year, the musical "Once" -- that end up having major popular appeal. Here are a few titles that we'll be keeping an eye on this year.

"Sleep Dealer"
This highly buzzed about picture takes place in a near-future Mexico where a young man discovers a transmission that could lead him to the city of the future.

"The Broken"
Fresh off "300," Lena Headey stars in this midnight selection thriller about a woman who finds herself in a reality horrifyingly different from her own.

"Adventures of Power"
A quirky comedy about a New Mexico mine worker who sets out to change the world through his love of ... "air drumming."

"Slingshot Hip Hop"
This documentary chronicles the growing Palestinian hip-hop movement in the Middle East.

"Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden?"
Amazed at Bin Laden's success at avoiding capture, Morgan Spurlock ("Super Size Me") travels all over the Middle East searching for the world's most wanted man.
