| We look back on the career of the star of 'A Late Quartet'
and 'The Master'
By Kim Morgan Special to MSN Movies
Philip Seymour Hoffman, no
matter the quality of the movie, no matter how large or small the role, seems to
have never given a poor performance in his life. He was terrific in "Moneyball," "Love Liza," "Doubt" and "25th Hour,"
but this writer tried to stick to the 10 best
movies (and had to go up to 12 even without those). With his newest
picture, "Late Quartet," on its way to theaters, not to
mention an obvious forthcoming Oscar nom for his remarkable role in "The Master," I came up with this list.
