One-man home-security system
When the amnesic Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) returns to his Paris
apartment for the first time after being shot and left for dead in the sea ("The Bourne Identity"), he starts piecing his life
together, including connections to an illegal U.S. government program called
Treadstone, with the help of a nomadic young woman named Marie Kreutz (Franka Potente). (She drove him from
Switzerland. She came for the money but stays for him and his protection.) When
one of the CIA's "assets" crashes into his place and attempts to erase him from
existence, the incredibly agile, quick-witted and strong Bourne puts up a potent
defense. It's so strong, in fact -- he uses a pen as a deadly weapon -- that the
assassin jumps out of the bedroom window to his death rather than face his fate
at the hands of his intended victim.
