Adorable aquatic animals on film

The closest most children will ever get to aquatic life is at SeaWorld. They're too young to scuba dive, swimming with dolphins is expensive, and they don't have a taste for sushi.

But lack of exposure doesn't stop kids from loving sea creatures. I recently visited Tokyo DisneySea. The line to meet the characters from "The Little Mermaid" was almost three hours long. Sea sells.

Adults are guilty of fervent aquatic adoration, too. Nearly 17 million people have viewed a famous video of two otters holding hands at the Vancouver Aquarium. Hours of adorable entertainment are a YouTube search away. And from the view counts, a lot of you are tuning in.

If it were easy to keep an endearing otter or a lovable seal at home, many people probably would.

Instead we'll have to settle with going to the movies. This week marks the release of "Big Miracle," a family drama starring Drew Barrymore as a Greenpeace volunteer trying to save a group of gray whales. The film co-stars John Krasinski, Kristen Bell and Dermot Mulroney.

In celebration of the film's release, here are 10 more sea creatures that will charm the whole family.
