The best things about being a "Twilight" blogger
By Myriam Gabriel-Pollock
I have been writing the "Twilight" blog for MSN Movies since April 2009, when it first went live as the "Twilight" Superfan page. These three and a half years have been nothing short of amazing for me. When I first accepted the gig earlier that year, I had no idea what was in store. Being a self-confessed Twi-Hard, getting the job really did feel like I'd somehow won a prize.
Going to the "New Moon" set in Vancouver, being on the red carpet for film premieres, interviewing the cast members, getting access to promotional material straight from the movie studio -- such were the mega-perks of writing about "Twilight" for a major media outlet. There were moments when I couldn't believe I was actually getting paid to do this (I hope my producer isn't reading this part). And yes, I even had those "someone pinch me hard" moments.
With the November 16 release of the fifth and final installment in the franchise, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" heralds the eventual end of my time as the "Twilight" blogger for MSN. It's been an incredible ride, to say the least, and I have had experiences and opportunities that have blown my mind, had me as giddy as a tween and have even changed my career path.
Here's a look at why being a professional "Twilight" blogger has been so very fabulous.
"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2" is out in theaters Friday, Nov. 16.
