The chimpanzee is an exceptionally intelligent species of anthropoid ape, and by spending over three years in the tropical jungles of Uganda and the Ivory Coast, filmmakers and experts offer viewers a unique opportunity to better understand their distinct role in our global ecosystem.

It all sounds good with corps putting money into helping people in other countries but there is no money to be made by doing that. If they lose money helping others they can't help themselves which in return hurts people in this country..its a vicious cycle....

Having been to Uganda, let me say this.. when Westerners

get interested in "glorified monkeys", be they chimps or gorillas,

tourism goes up. Tourism creates jobs and govenrment's dedication

to keeping the tourists safe. Tha means troops move in and

rebels/bandits get chased out. So, "glorified monkeys"  are just

what they need.. even more than charity groups, who many times

never make it to those in need as the areas aren't safe.
