Setting Personal Firewalls
Sometimes different software applications designed to protect or enhance your PC can interfere with downloading music. If you have any of the applications listed below running on your computer please click on the name and you will be taken to instructions on how to configure them appropriately to work with MSN Music downloads.

Click Start and then Control Panel.

  1. Go to Windows Firewall. 

    • Option A. For Category view, select 'Security Center' then 'Windows Firewall'.

    • Option B. For Classic View, select 'Windows Firewall'.

  2. Go to the 'Exceptions' tab.

  3. Click the 'Browse' button on the 'Add a Program' window.

        

  4. Browse for the 'MsnMusic' file on the following path: C:\Program Files\MsnMusic

    • Under the 'Look in:' drop down menu, select the 'C:' drive.

    • Double-click the 'Program Files' folder.

    • Double-click the 'MsnMusic' folder.

  5. Open the numbered folder then highlight the 'MsnMusic' icon. If there's more than one folder, go to the folder name with the highest number. Select the 'MsnMusic' icon then click the 'Open' button.

    • You will notice that the 'MsnMusic' icon is now in your 'Add a Program' list. Click 'OK' to continue.

    • After 'MsnMusic' is marked, click 'OK' once again to close the 'Windows Firewall' window.
