![]() Avg.User Rating: Rate this person: Director, Screenwriter Biography:Filmmaker "Tim Hunter" is known for his disturbing depiction of alienated youth during the late '70s and mid eighties. He is best known for his two films "Over the Edge" (1979) and "River's Edge"(1986). Though both films contain totally different storylines, they both share similar themes of amoral youth who have become disassociated from their feelings and any notion of social responsibility or values. The young people in Hunter's films take their cue from the deterioration of values in the larger society and take it to their grimmest extremes. The Harvard schooled Hunter, formerly a professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz, made his film debut in 1982 with "Tex", a story based on a novel by S. E. Hinton.
