The band -- which went under several names before arriving at the Beatles -- incorporated numerous American rock & roll, rhythm & blues, and pop music influences in their playing and songwriting, most notably the sounds of "Buddy Holly", "Chuck Berry", "Little Richard", and "Arthur Alexander".
