Before making her movie debut in The Green Eyed Blonde in 1957, Oliver studied drama at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater. She joined the cast of "Peyton Place" as Ann Colby Howard in 1966, while continuing her film career. Oliver's film career was sporadic after 1970; however, she was active in the American Film Institute's workshop for women.
