This lack of showbiz slickness came in handy for the "everyman" roles assigned him. Lassick played the manic-depressive Cheswick in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (1975) and the sarcastic English teacher in "Carrie" (1976), to cite two roles among dozens.
