She then had a supporting role as a friend of Mary in "Peter Farrelly" and "Bobby Farrelly"'s 1998 comedy smash "There's Something About Mary". Following a part in "Chris O'Donnell"'s "The Bachelor", which also starred "Renee Zelwegger", "Brooke Shields", and "James Cromwell", "Silverman" secured a deal with Columbia Tri-Star to create a vehicle for herself based on her one-woman show, Susan Plays Cheese.
