Usually cast as an indeterminate-origin foreigner, Brent appeared in such major productions as "East Meets West" (1936), and "Under the Red Robe" (1937). He both co-starred in and wrote the dialogue for the 1937 Anglo-American espionager "Dinner at the Ritz" (1937).
