Rust appeared in such Columbias as "The Legend of Tom Dooley" (1959), "This Rebel Breed" (1960), "Comanche Station" (1960), "Homicidal" (1961), and Underworld USA (1961). In 1962, he was cast as lawyer "Edmond O'Brien"'s "leg man" Hank Tabor in the weekly TV legal series Sam Benedict.
