Biography:A Warner Bros. contract player in the '40s, American actor "Ray Montgomery" was little more than a handsome face in the crowd in such films as "The Hard Way" (1942) (he played "Johnny Gilpin," but like everyone else in that film was overshadowed by "Ida Lupino") and "Action in the North Atlantic" (1943). Montgomery's most prominent film role was as the feckless bridegroom in the 1948 comedy "June Bride". He remained in films thereafter as a character player, usually in military-oriented pictures like "Bombers B-52" (1957) and "A Gathering of Eagles" (1963). In 1952, Montgomery was signed to play Prof. Howard Ogden, chemist friend of Africa-based doctor Jon Hall on the popular syndicated TV series "Ramar of the Jungle" (1952); several "Ramar" episodes were later sewn together by Lippert Studios and released as ersatz feature films.
