Actor Born: April 13, 1927 in Nice, France Death: March 14, 1983 in Paris, France Biography:The son of professional actors, French film star "Maurice Ronet" studied at the Paris Conservatoire, where one of his mentors was "Jean-Louis Barrault". On the stage from age 20, Ronet made his first film, Rendezvous de Juliet, in 1949. A popular leading man of the 1950s and 1960s, Ronet was a particular favorite of such influential directors as "Louis Malle" and "Claude Chabrol". He turned director himself for two films, "Le Voleur de Tibidabo" (1964) and "Bartleby" (1977). "Maurice Ronet" was the husband of "Josephine Chaplin", the youngest daughter of the celebrated Charlie. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
