On the stage from age 20, Ronet made his first film, Rendezvous de Juliet, in 1949. A popular leading man of the 1950s and 1960s, Ronet was a particular favorite of such influential directors as "Louis Malle" and "Claude Chabrol". He turned director himself for two films, "Le Voleur de Tibidabo" (1964) and "Bartleby" (1977).
