Biography:A comedy writer, producer, and former standup performer, "Marjorie Gross" was best-known for her work on the popular sitcom Seinfeld (1990-1998). Born and raised in Toronto, Gross started out performing in New York City nightclubs during the mid-'70s. Before she decided to become a full-time writer, Gross performed twice on Late Night With David Letterman. In 1982, Gross moved to Southern California to become a writer on the short-lived but acclaimed Square Pegs. While there, she also penned scripts for such series as Newhart and Get a Life. She became a producer in 1994. During the '90s, she also occasionally acted on-stage. Gross penned one screenplay, "The Best Man", which was in development by New Line Cinema at the time of her death from ovarian cancer at age 40 in 1996. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
