Biography:Hungarian cinematographer "Lajos Koltai" gained international attention by way of his many collaborations with his brilliant countryman, director "Istvan Szabo". Koltai's unerring cinematic eye contributed mightily to the success of Szabo's thematic trilogy "Mephisto" (1981), "Colonel Redl" (1985) and "Hanussen" (1988). Koltai has also worked on a number of American projects, notably director "Luis Mandoki"'s "Gaby--A True Story" (1987) and "White Palace" (1990). In 1991, "Lajos Koltai" was reteamed with "Istvan Szabo" on the British-produced "Meeting Venus". ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
