Director Born: August 7, 1909 Biography:American director "Joseph Newman" started in the film industry as an office boy at MGM when he was only 16. He went on to work as a script clerk, assistant director, and director of short films. By the early '40s, Newman had become a competent, consistent director of routine action films.
