Davis" was signed by 20th Century Fox in the mid-'40s. "Davis" remained with Fox as a set designer until 1959, winning Academy awards for "The Robe" (1953) and "The Diary of Anne Frank" (1959). He moved to MGM upon the retirement of "Cedric Gibbons". As MGM curtailed its feature-film activity in the 1960s, "George W.
