Director, Screenwriter, Conception Born: August 14, 1922 in Cetinje, Montenegro, Yugoslavia Death: April 18, 1990 in Paris, France Biography:"Frederic Rossif" was known for making compilation films that recorded some of the most important historical events in mid-20th century Europe. He started out with the Cinémathèque Française. During the '50s, he was a television director. Among his best-known work is his look at the Spanish Civil War in "To Die in Madrid" (1962) and "Revolution d'Octobre" (1967), a look at the Russian Revolution that contained footage from Vertov's 1929 documentary Man With a Movie Camera. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
