After helming short documentaries, Blier directed his first feature "Hitler? Connais Pas!" in 1962. In the '70s he began attracting international attention with his dark satires of sex and society, "Les Valseuses" (aka "Going Places"), "Preparez Vos Mouchoirs" ("Get Out Your Handkerchiefs"), and "Buffet Froid", all with "Gerard Depardieu". Blier's vision became even more scathing over the '80s, with his intergenerational love story "Beau Pere", his gay-themed satire "Tenue De Soiree" ("Menage"), and his adultery comedy "Trop Belle Pour Toi" ("Too Beautiful For You"). ~ All Movie Guide
